Launching the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management installer for an HA installation
Complete the following steps to launch the BMC Cloud LifeCycle Management installer for a high availability (HA) installation.
- Launch the installer.
For more information, see Launching-the-installer-and-pre-analyzing-your-environment. - On the Welcome page, click Next.
- Review the license agreement, click I agree to the terms of license agreement, and click Next.
- On the Installation Prerequisites panel, review all the prerequisites that you must complete before you start the installation.
- Select the I have read the prerequisites check box and select the Do not display this panel for subsequent installations check box if you do not want to view the prerequisites again during other product installations.
- Click Next.
- On the Directory Selection panel, navigate to the location on the host where you want to install the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management products and click Next.
You can accept the default value if you do not have a specific location for the installation files. - Click Next and on the Installation Preview window, click Install.
- If BMC Network Shell (NSH) is not installed, the system prompts you to install it.
On the NSH installation window, navigate to the directory where you want to install NSH. The default locations are C:\Program Files\BMC Software\NSH (Windows) and \opt\bmc\nsh (Linux). - Click Next.
The Select Deployment Type panel appears. - Select the New Deployment option and click Next.
- On the Select Deployment Template panel, choose the type of deployment template to implement.
For HA, you can select Small or Medium deployments. - Select the deployment tier based on the products that you want to install first and click Next.
- Specify the hostnames of the products you want to install.
Provide all the node information including primary and secondary nodes for HA installation.
If you want to clean the planner and run a fresh installation or if you want to re-install the product, perform the following steps:
- Exit the BMC Cloud LifeCycle Management installer if it is already open.
- Go to C:\Program Files\BMC Software\Planner\ (Windows) or /opt/bmc/Planner/ (Linux) and make a backup of FileRegistry.xml, FileRegistry.xsd, InstallationTaskConfiguration.xsd and PlannerInstalledConfiguration.xml files. For more information see, Installer launch issues.
- Specify a secondary product (for example, Atrium Web Registry) for HA installation.
