Managing load balancer pools by server


Perform these tasks to manage load balancer pools for servers for your organization:

A Tenant Administrator can add or remove load balancer pool entries on shared network infrastructure if that load balancer pool is created as a part of service instance provision.

To add a load balancer pool

  1. Access the My Services > Services subtab of the BMC My Cloud Services Console to select service.

  2. Double-click a service instance to display its server or servers.

  3. Select a server and click the Manage Load Balancer icon virtualLBicon.jpg.
    The Edit Load Balancer Settings dialog appears.

  4. Select the Network Interface for the pool.

  5. Click the Add Load Balancer Pool icon plusicon.jpg.

  6. Select a VLB pool from the list.
  7. Chose whether to enable the VLB pool when added and whether to override the application protocol and port number of the vLB pool.
  8. Click OK.

To remove a load balancer pool

  1. From the Service Instances pane of My Cloud Services Console, double-click a service instance to display its server or servers.
  2. Select a server and click the Manage Load Balancer icon virtualLBicon.jpg.  The Edit Load Balancer Settings dialog appears.
  3. Highlight the load balancer pool you want to remove.
  4. Click the Remove Load Balancer Pool icon  minusicon.jpg to remove the highlighted VLB pool.  A confirmation deletion pop up appears.
  5. Click Yes to confirm permanent deletion of the load balancer pool.

To enable or disable a load balancer pool

  1. From the Service Instances pane of My Cloud Services Console, double-click a service instance to display its server or servers.
  2. Select a server and click the Manage Load Balancer icon virtualLBicon.jpg.  The Edit Load Balancer Settings dialog appears.
  3. Highlight the pool you want to enable or disable.highlightedVLBpool.jpg
  4. Click the Enable Pool icon  enablepoolicon.jpg or the Disable Pool icon  disablepoolicon.jpg to change the status of the highlighted load balancer for the server.
