Restarting service offering instances

Starting with BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 4.1 patch 1 and later, a cloud administrator or an end user can restart a service offering instance (supported providers are VMware, Amazon, and VMware vCloud only) from the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management – My Cloud Services Console. You can also restart compute containers, resource set, and virtual guest by using the Restart operation. You cannot restart any platform-as-a-service (PaaS) containers from the workspace.

When you perform the Restart operation, the status of the SOI changes to Restarting. The status changes to Running after the VM is restarted successfully.

To restart the service offering instance

  1. From the list of services in the My Services tab of the My Cloud Services Console, select the service offering instance that you want to restart and perform either of the following steps:
    • Click Restart Restart SOI.png.
    • Right-click the service offering instance and from the context menu select Service > Restart.
    • Click the Operator Action iconoperator action.png and select Restart.
The status of the service offering instance changes to Restarting. When the SOI is restarted successfully, the status changes to Running.
