Managing load balancer pool entries


From the My Cloud Services Console, you can perform these tasks to manage load balancer pool entries for servers:

A Cloud end user can add or remove load balancer pool entries on shared network infrastructure if that load balancer pool is created as a part of service instance provision.

To add a server to a load balancer pool entry

  1. From the My Services tab of My Cloud Services Console, click the Servers link bar or click the Details icon details_icon.jpgfor a server displayed in the pane below your list of services.

  2. Select a server from the displayed list and click the Manage Load Balancer icon virtualLBicon.jpg

    The Edit Load Balancer Settings dialog appears.

  3. Select the Network Interface for the pool.

  4. Click the Add Load Balancer Pool icon plusicon.jpg.  The Chose Load Balancers dialog appears.

  5. Select a pool entry from the list by clicking the check box to the left of the entry.

  6. Choose whether to enable the pool entry when added and whether to override the application protocol and port number of the pool.
  7. Click Update. Depending on the options you selected in the preceding step, the pool entry is updated.  For example, if you clicked the check box to enable the load balancer pool entry, the Enabled flag is set to True.

  8. If necessary, make changes to the options for a pool entry and click Update again to refresh the changed options.
  9. Click OK to add the load balancer pool entry.

To remove a server from a load balancer pool entry

  1. From the My Services tab of My Cloud Services Console, click the Servers link bar or click the Details icon details_icon.jpgfor a server displayed in the pane below your list of services.
  2. Select a server and click the Manage Load Balancer icon virtualLBicon.jpg.  The Edit Load Balancer Settings dialog appears.
  3. Select the Network Interface for the pool.
  4. Highlight the pool entry you want to remove.
  5. Click the Remove Load Balancer Pool icon minusicon.jpg to remove the highlighted pool entry.  A confirmation deletion pop up appears.
  6. Click Yes to confirm permanent deletion of the pool entry.

To enable or disable a load balancer pool entry for a server

  1. From the My Services tab of My Cloud Services Console, click the Servers link bar or click the Details icon  details_icon.jpgfor a server displayed in the pane below your list of services.
  2. Select a server and click the Manage Load Balancer icon virtualLBicon.jpg.  The Edit Load Balancer Settings dialog appears.
  3. Select the Network Interface for the pool.
  4. Highlight the pool entry you want to enable or disable.

  5. Click the Enable Pool icon  enablepoolicon.jpg or the Disable Pool icon disablepoolicon.jpg to change the status of the highlighted pool entry for the server. The status of your request is displayed in the Pending Activity pane and also on the Servers link bar of the Activities tab.
