2.1.x Staging upgrade process flow chart
The flowchart in this topic explains the Staging upgrade processes for upgrading products from BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 2.1.x to 4.x.
Before you begin
Before you start the Staging upgrade, ensure that you review the following details:
- You can perform this process for multiple deployment environments, such as for development, quality assurance, and production.
- You can upgrade all products in the BMC Cloud Lifecycle solution, except for the BMC Capacity Optimizer product, which is not a part of the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution.
- Pay attention to the exact process order between 2.1.x and 3.x because there are important differences. In 3.x, you upgrade BMC Network Automation in zone 1, but in 2.1.x, you upgrade it in zone 2.
- Before you upgrade BMC Network Automation, review the prerequisites in Preparing to upgrade BNA blueprints, containers, and rogue switches.
- Before starting the data migration, ensure that all host VMs or physical machines on which you installed the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management products are available.
