Delta Data Migration Tool contents

This section provides information about the contents of the Delta Data Migration tool folder that is included with BMC Remedy Migrator. After you install the BMC Remedy Migrator, you must customize the Delta Data Migration Tool to work with the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution. For more information about installing BMC Remedy Migrator, see Installing BMC Remedy Migrator.

Content of the Delta Data Migration Tool folder

The following table lists the contents of the migrator tool.

File or folder

Description

Configuration.xml

Used by the DeltaMigration.exe executable to run the correct package versions from the Packages folder.
Note: Update the Configuration.xml file with the location where the Delta Data Migration Tool is installed by default:
migrator-dir=C:\Program Files\BMC Software\migrator\migrator
Also add the above path to your environment Path variable in your computer settings.

DeltaMigration.exe

The executable file for launching that the Delta Data Migration Tool. The tool enables you to compare or migrate your data from the current production server to the staging server (new production server).

Packages folder

Contains the package, instruction XML files, and the mapping files for all supported versions of the following products:

  • BMC Remedy AR System
  • BMC Atrium
  • BMC Remedy ITSM
  • BMC Service Level Management
  • BMC Service Impact Manager
  • Integration for BMC Remedy Service Desk
  • BMC Service Request Management
  • BMC Remedy Knowledge Management
  • BMC Cloud Management User
  • BMC Cloud Management Foundation
  • BMC Cloud Management Administrator
  • BMC Cloud Enterprise Atrium CMDB
  • BMC Cloud Atrium CMDB

Utilities folder

Contains two utilities that can be used to find and package custom forms from your server.

To customize the Delta Data Migration Tool for BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management

To run the migration tool successfully with the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution, perform the following steps:

  1. Log on to the Enterprise AR System server host and navigate to C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BMCCloudLifeCycleManagement\Cloud_DB\extensions\clm\public\schema\ddmpackage.

  2. Copy and extract the CLM folder to a temporary folder under the <drive letter>:\Program Files\BMC Software\Migrator\migrator\DeltaDataMigrator\packages folder.
