Setting host name preferences for provisioned servers


You can customize the host names that BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management uses for provisioned servers.

This topic contains the following sections:

To set host name preferences

  1. Click the General tab from the Configuration workspace.
  2. Under HostName Preferences specify the length and pattern of the alphanumeric characters that make up the host name string.

    Click here for descriptions of the options.
    • HostName Length specifies the length of the host name string.
    • User Input Maximum Length specifies the maximum number of characters that a cloud end user can enter in the host name string when requesting a server. The name cannot exceed the value in HostName Length.
    • HostName Pattern Predefined format for the host name string.

  3. Make any other changes needed on the General tab and click Save.
