Support for Microsoft Hyper-V environments

BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management version 3.1 provides support for Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization environments. This support includes the following capabilities:

  • Provisioning service offering instances (SOIs) on Hyper-v systems
  • Decommissioning Hyper-V-based SOIs
  • Starting or stopping SOIs
  • Extending expiration dates
  • Installing software

Note

For the Hyper-V platform, BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management version 3.1 supports only Windows Day 1 and Day 2 use cases, with the exception of the Add Disk and NIC transaction requestable offering (TRO) actions for Bronze containers.

The Service Offering Instance for HyperV with Silver and Gold containers is not tested completely in BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 3.1 due to a delay in the SCVMM GA release from Microsoft (Jan 2013). We expect them to work but have not verified them yet. Testing continues and after it is complete, we will update the support status of these use cases.
