Installing the Appliance Provider
This topic provides the tasks to be completed for installing the Appliance Provider.
Before you begin
- Ensure that you have downloaded the ApplianceProvider 20.13.04 Windows Installer for CLM 3.1 SP1.zip or ApplianceProvider 20.13.04 Linux Installer for CLM 3.1 SP1.tar file from BMC Communities and extracted the installer files.
- Ensure that the following BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management stack components are installed and running when installing an Appliance Provider:
- BMC Atrium Orchestrator
- BMC Platform Manager
- BMC Remedy Action Request System (BMC Remedy AR System)
- Ensure that you have the same OS (Microsoft Windows or Linux) in the computer from where the installer is being run and the computer where BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management stack components are installed.
- Ensure that you have the following privileges on the computer on which you want to run the installer and on which the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management stack components are installed:
- (Microsoft Windows) Administrator
- (Linux) Root
- Ensure that BMC Server Automation Network Shell (NSH) is installed and RSCD agent is running on the computer on which you want to run the installer.
- Ensure that NSH is installed and RSCD agent is running on the computer on which the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management stack components are installed.
- Ensure that you have validated the high availability (HA) configuration properties prior to running the installer in an HA environment.
To install the Appliance Provider
- At the command prompt, run the following command to start the installation:
- (Microsoft Windows, logged on as an Administrator) setup.cmd
- (Linux, logged on as root) setup.sh
- On the Welcome page, click Next.
- Review the license agreement, select I agree to the terms of license agreement, and click Next.
- Review the Appliance Provider Installation Prerequisites window, shown in the following figure, and ensure that the installation requirements are met:

- Select I have read the prerequisites, and click Next.
In the BMC Remedy AR System inputs window, shown in the following figure, specify the BMC Remedy AR System server name, BMC Remedy AR System user credentials, and click Next:

In the Appliance Provider Configuration User Entries window, shown in the following figure, specify the Vendor and Product Categorization Tier3 details, and click Next:

- In the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Platform Manager and BMC Atrium Orchestrator connection inputs window, shown in the following figure, specify the required details and click Next:
- Platform Manager Host Name — Name of the server where the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Platform Manager is installed
- Platform Manager User Name — User name to log on to the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Platform Manager
- Platform Manager Password — Password to authenticate the user name
- Platform Manager Installed directory — Directory where the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Platform Manager server is installed
- AO Repository Host Name — Name of the server where the BMC Atrium Orchestrator is installed
- AO Repository Port — Port number of BMC Atrium Orchestrator repository
AO Repository Protocol — Protocol used by the BMC Atrium Orchestrator repository

- On the Installation Preview page, click Next.
- Read the warning related to stopping the OSGi service of the BMC Cloud Platform Manager and click Next.
- On the Installation Summary page, shown in the following figure, click View Log to review any messages:

Click Done to exit the installer.
To verify the installation
- In the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Administration Console, click the vertical Workspaces menu on the left side of the window and select Providers.
- Click Register
. - In the Register Provider window, verify that the Appliance Provider provider type is shown in the Provider Type list.
