Installing the VDI Orchestration ZipKit
This topic describes how to install the VDI Orchestration ZipKit and verify the installation.
Before you begin
Ensure that you have downloaded the VDI Orchestration ZipKit (VDIOrchestration_Linux_20.13.03.zip or VDIOrchestration_Window_20.13.03.zip and VDIOrchestration_PostInstall_20.13.03.zip files) and extracted the installer, custom and SRD files.
- Ensure that you have set the environment variables (JAVA_HOME and jre PATH).
- Ensure that you are running the installer from the computer on which BMC Remedy AR System is installed.
- Ensure that BMC Remedy AR System and BMC Atrium Orchestrator are running.
- (Microsoft Windows) Ensure that you log on as an Administrator.
- (Linux) Ensure that you have root privileges.
To install the VDI Orchestration ZipKit
- Navigate to the extracted installer file folder and, at the command prompt, run one of the following commands to start the installation:
- (Microsoft Windows) setup.exe
- (Linux) setup.sh
- On the Welcome page, click Next.
- Review the license agreement, select I agree to the terms of license agreement, and then click Next.
- Review the VDI Orchestration Installation Prerequisites pane and ensure that the installation requirements are met:
- Select I have read the prerequisites, and then click Next.
- In the BMC Remedy Action Request System (BMC Remedy AR System) inputs pane, specify the BMC Remedy AR System server name and user credentials, and click Next.
In the BMC Atrium Orchestrator connection inputs pane, specify the required details and click Next:
- Host name — Name of the server where BMC Atrium Orchestrator is installed
- Username — User name to access the BMC Atrium Orchestrator repository
- Password — Password to access the BMC Atrium Orchestrator repository
- Port number — Port number of the BMC Atrium Orchestrator repository
Protocol — Protocol used by the BMC Atrium Orchestrator repository
- On the Installation Preview pane, as shown in the figure below, click Next.
- On the Installation Summary pane, click View Log to view details.
- Click Done to exit the installer.
To verify that the installation is successful
- Check the VDI Orchestration installation log file to see whether it contains any error messages.
- Check for failed .def or .arx file details in the VDI_tmp\Logs\RemedyApplication_error.log file.
If any exist, you must manually import the specific .arx or .def file mentioned in the log. For details see manual procedure for importing the .arx file and manual procedure for importing the .def file process.
