Requesting an SAP ERP 6.0 service

Automated installation process of SAP ERP
After your virtual machine is provisioned and customized, BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management triggers the application installation with the help of BMC Server Automation. The following steps outline the automated installation process of SAP ERP:
- SAP ERP File system creates the required file system on the underlying physical volume for the application installation.
- SAP ERP Media copies all the media from the Central Repository to the target virtual machine.
- SAP ERP prerequisite checker creates the required directories and runs a prerequisite check before installing the actual package.
- SAP ERP User Create Package creates the required users for the installation.
- SAP ERP Oracle Package installs the database that is required for installation.
- SAP ERP Package triggers the installation of SAP ERP on the target system.
To request an SAP ERP 6.0 service
- Log on to the Cloud Portal.
- Navigate to Service Instances.
- Click the Service Catalog tab.
- In the Request Service section, click ERP 6.0 EHP 5.
The SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 ABAP based on NW 7.02 - RHEL/Oracle screen appears. In the Parameters section, enter the appropriate parameters in the respective fields as described in the table below:

• This number is the technical identifier for internal processes.
• The instance number consists of a two-digit number between 00 and 97.
• AIX: Do not use 01 or 02 and 39 as instance number.
• HP-UX: Do not use 02 and 75 as instance number.
• Windows: Do not use 43 and 89 as instance number.
SAP System ID (SAPSID)
SAP_INST
• This identifier applies to the SAP system.
• The ID is unique throughout your organization.
• The ID consists of exactly three alphanumeric characters.
• The ID contains only uppercase letters and the first character must be a letter, not a number.
• Reserved IDs cannot be used.
- Click Next.
The second section of the SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 ABAP based on NW 7.02 - RHEL/Oracle screen appears. - Enter the appropriate values in the following mandatory fields:
- Quantity
- Instance Name Affix
- Username
- Password
Confirm Password
- Click Next.
The last section of the SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 ABAP based on NW 7.02 - RHEL/Oracle screen appears. - Verify the information that you entered and click Submit.
After you submit the request, it takes a couple of hours to complete the SAP ERP 6.0 provisioning.
SAP ERP 6.0 limitations
The following limitations pertain to SAP ERP 6.0 provisioning:
- The postinstallation activities within the SAP system need to be performed manually.
- The <SAPSID> is not validated for restricted <SID>.
- There is no option to enter the Master password.
To request a distributed SAP ERP 6.0 service
A distributed SAP ERP 6.0 is available in three different sizes - small, medium, and large. However, the number of servers to be provisioned depend on the SAP ERP size that you select. To request a distributed SAP ERP 6.0 service, select the relevant service offering (small, medium, or large) from the Request Service section. Repeat the same steps and the parameters that you entered in the To request an SAP ERP 6.0 service section.
