Requesting SAP services

BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management can provision a complex set of SAP products in physical or virtual environments, as described in the following topics:

To request an SAP service

  1. Log on to the Cloud Portal as a BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management administrator.
  2. From the Service Catalog tab, select a service offering.
  3. Enter the appropriate inputs to the required parameters.
  4. Submit the request.

The inputs that you entered are sent automatically to the Platform Manager and then to the Resource Manager. BMC Server Automation then triggers the provisioning on the underlying resources, which are either physical machines (bare metal) or virtual machines (VMware, Citrix). BMC Network Automation provides IP management. After the provisioning is complete, the target machine is customized. SAP Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) is triggered with the help of NSH and BMC Server Automation BLPackages. SWPM installs SAP software on the target machine.

Note

Depending on the package that you choose for installation, the NSH and BLPackages may vary.

This process flow diagram depicts the generic workflow that is explained above.
