Configuring post-deployment actions (for compute resources)

In the Compute Resources tab of the Resource Set Details dialog box, you can specify actions that are performed after the compute resource action is performed (for example, after the CPU, the memory, and so on, are provisioned).

To configure post-deployment actions (for compute resources)

  1. While defining a service deployment definition, in the Service Deployment Definition Details section, click an existing service deployment definition and then click Edit EditIconBlue.gif. The Resource Set Details dialog box opens.
  2. Click the Compute Resources tab.
  3. In the Post Deployment Actions for Compute Resources section, click New New.gif.
An AO Workflow action is added to the Action Type list.
A BMC Atrium Orchestrator workflow can perform a particular action, such as a script that formats the additional virtual system disk into one 100GB partition called D:. Currently, only BMC Atrium Orchestrator workflows are supported as post-deployment actions.
  4. Click in the Action column and enter the name of the workflow (for example, format D 100 or lvm /data 100).
You must ensure that the workflow is actually available on your system. Workflows are defined in BMC Atrium Orchestrator. When entering the action, include any parameters that the action might need.
  5. Specify a sequence for each action by clicking the up or down arrow at right or clicking in the Sequence column and entering a number that represents a position in the deployment sequence.
  6. Click OK.
