Configuring the Amazon EC2 provider type

Beginning in BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 3.1, the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) provider is registered by default during the installation process. There is no need to register an EC2 provider manually in the Provider workspace.
If you need to change a value for the EC2 provider, use the following procedure.
To modify the configuration of an Amazon EC2 compute provider
This procedure describes how to modify values for an Amazon EC2 instance.
- Select the Compute category in the Providers workspace (see Registering-resource-providers).
- In the list of providers, select an EC2 compute provider and click Edit
.
A window provides options for defining the provider.
Modify the following fields, as necessary:

Name that you assign to this Amazon EC2 provider type definition.
Description
Text description that distinguishes this provider type.
AO Server URL
URL of the BMC Atrium Orchestrator server. It should follow this format: http://<hostName or IP address>:<port number>/baocdp/orca.
AO Server User Name
User name associated with the BMC Atrium Orchestrator server's administrator login account.
AO Server Password
Password associated with the BMC Atrium Orchestrator server's administrator login account.
AO Server Grid Name
Name of the grid containing the group of servers where BMC Atrium Orchestrator is installed. The grid name should not contain any special characters. See the Storage tab under Configuration options for the grid name.
AO Server Adapter Name
Name of the application adapter that provides the interface between the BMC Atrium Orchestrator workflow processes and the Amazon EC2 web service. This adapter enables you to perform a range of operations in Amazon EC2, including operations on Amazon Machine Images, Availability Zones, and Virtual Private Clouds. For this provider type, the value is Amazon EC2.
- Click Submit.
- Restart the OSGi container. On the system where BMC Cloud Platform Manager is installed, do either of the following:
- Microsoft Windows — Restart the BMC_CSM service by using the stop andd start commands of the Services window.
- Linux — Enter the following commands from the specified path:
- /etc/init.d/stop bmccsm
- /etc/init.d/start bmccsm
