Creating Terremark service deployment definitions and resource sets


You use the Service Deployment Definitions tab (in the Service Blueprints Definition editor) to specify how resources are assigned to support the functionality that is described in the service definition of a blueprint.

To create service deployment definitions and resource sets

  1. In the Service Deployment Definitions tab of the Blueprint Definition Editor, click New New.gif.

  2. Enter a name and description for the service deployment definition.
  3. In the Resource Sets tab, click Add  New.gif
  4. In the Resource Set Details window, specify a name and description for the resource set.
  5. From the list of available components, add the components to include with this resource set.
  6. In the Compute Resources tab, specify the compute attributes required for this resource set. 

    Notes

  7. In the Network Resources tab, configure the Network Interface Cards (NICs) with the following details:
    • Use Label: Specify Dmz or Internal.
    • Assign NAT Address: Select this check box to assign the IP address to access the public network (internet) and open ports. Port 22 is opened for a Linux virtual machine (VM), and port 3389 is opened for a Microsoft Windows VM.

  8. Click OK to close the dialog box.
  9. Click Save to commit the blueprint and all your changes. 

    Note

    You can define parameters in the Service Deployment Definitions tab after you create the service definition.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
