Managing Savvis VMs


This topic describes how to start, stop, fence, or unfence a provisioned server or virtual machine (VM).

To start or stop a server

  1. In the My Cloud Services Console in the Services Instance pane, click the Servers link.
     The provisioned servers and VMs for a service offering are displayed.
  2. From the list of servers in the Servers link of the My Services tab, highlight the server that you want to start or stop.
  3. Choose one of the following methods to perform the action:
    • Click the Start start_button.jpgor the Stop stop_button.jpg.
    • Click the Operator Action operator_action_button.jpgand select the action (Start or Stop).
    • Right-click the server and choose the action from the Server pop-up menu.

  4. After the server is started or stopped, the status is shown as Running/Stopped.

To fence or unfence a server

Fencing or Unfencing a server refers to parking or unparking a server in the SavvisStation. For instructions, see to Fencing-or-Unfencing-a-server.
