Managing the Cisco HCS VMs


This topic provides instructions for performing the following actions on a provisioned VM or server:

To start or stop a server

  1. From the list of servers in the Servers link of the My Services tab in the My Cloud Services Console, highlight the server that you want to start or stop.
  2. Use one of the following methods to perform the action:
    • Click the Start start_button.jpg icon or the Stop stop_button.jpg icon.
    • Click the Operator Action operator_action_button.jpg icon and select the action (Start or Stop).
    • Right-click the server and choose the action from the Server pop-up menu.

      After the server is started or stopped, the status is shown as Running or Stopped.

To shut down a server

  1. From the list of servers in the Servers link of the My Services tab in the My Cloud Services Console, highlight the server that you want to shut down.
  2. Use one of the following methods to perform the action:
    • Click the Shutdown shutdown.png icon.
    • Click the Operator Action operator_action_button.jpg icon and select the action (Shutdown).
      The server is shut down.

To decommision a service

  1. From the list of services in the Services link of the My Services tab in the My Cloud Services Console, highlight the service that you want to decommission.
  2. Use one of the following methods to perform the action:
    • Click the Decommission Decm_icon.png icon.
    • Click the Operator Action operator_action_button.jpg icon and select the action (Decommission).
    • Right-click the service and choose the action from the Service pop-up menu.

      After the service is decommissioned, the status is shown as Decommissioned.

To modify CPU count and memory size for a server

Note

BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management cloud administrators can create memory and CPU options and option choices for the Cisco HCS Provider. For more  information, see Creating memory and CPU options and option choices for Cisco HCS.

  1. Log on to BMC Remedy Action Request System (AR System) by using your end-user credentials.
  2. In the left side of the window, click the vertical Applications menu, and select Cloud Lifecycle Management > My Cloud Services Console.
  3. In the My Services tab of My Cloud Services workspace, click the Servers link.

  4. From the displayed list of servers, select the server for which you want to modify the memory and CPU option choices, and click Modify ActionsModifyCPU.gif.
  5. From the menu, select an available postdeployment modify action.

  6. In the Submit Request dialog box, select your options and click Next

  7. Review your request details and click Submit.

To view provisioned resource details

  1. Log on to the BMC Remedy IT Service Management Console.

  2. Click Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution > Provisioned Resource Details.

  3. Click Search
    This action displays the provisioned resource details of the Cisco HCS Provider.

    You can view the following information for each of the provisioned resource.
     

    UI label

    Description

    VM Node Name

    Application node name of the provisioned VM

    IP Address

    IP address of the provisioned VM

    Subnet Mask

    Subnet mask of the provisioned VM

    Gateway

    Gateway of the provisioned VM

    Port Group

    Port group of the provisioned VM

    Node Type

    Application node type of the provisoned VM

    Global IP

    Public IP assigned to the VM

    Service Offering Name

    Service offering name of the provisioned VM
