Installing the Cisco HCS Provider

Installing the Cisco HCS Provider is a process that consists of multiple procedures. The following topics outline the high-level steps to install the Cisco HCS Provider to BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management as a provider type:

Before you begin

  • Ensure that the virtual host, virtual cluster, and datastore are configured in the vCenter.
  • Ensure that the Golden Templates are available in the vCenter inventory and uploaded to a shared datastore. For details about creating the Cisco Golden Templates, see Create Golden Template in the Cisco documentation.

    Note

Ensure that the templates are visible to all the hosts in all clusters. Do not duplicate a template name in the vCenter inventory.

  • Ensure that the pods and the network container blueprints are customized according to your environment, as described in Pod-and-container-reference-material.
  • Ensure that you have downloaded the Network Container blueprints from BMC Communities
