Managing multiple vCenter servers for Cisco HCS


This topic provides information about managing multiple Cisco HCS vCenter server details. You can add multiple vCenter server details and edit or delete an existing vCenter server detail.

To add a vCenter server

  1. From the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Administration Console, click the vertical Workspaces menu on the left side of the window and select Providers.
  2. On the Providers page, select the Cisco HCS provider type and click Manage Multiple Accounts MngMulAc.png , as shown in the following figure:

     The Manage Multiple vCenter Server window displays the Add vCenter Server Details pane, as shown in the following figure:

  3. Supply the required server and user information, as shown in the following example.

    Field

    Description

    Server Name

    Name of the vCenter server.

    Protocol

    HTTPS or HTTP protocol.
    Default value: HTTPS

    Port

    Admin port of the vCenter server of this account.
    Default value: 443

    User Name

    vCenter administrator user name.
    This user must have administrative privileges on the vCenter to manage from BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management.

    Password

    Password that corresponds to the specified vCenter administrator user name.

  4. Click Save.
     A message indicates that the vCenter server details are saved.
  5. Click OK.
     The newly-added vCenter server details appear in the Existing vCenter Server Details list, as shown in the following figure:

To edit a vCenter server

  1. On the Manage Multiple vCenter Server page, select the vCenter server that you want to edit. 
  2. Click Edit vCenter Server edit.png.
  3. The selected vCenter server details can be edited in the Edit vCenter Server section:

  4. Click Update to save the edited vCenter server information.

To delete vCenter server

  1. In the Manage Multiple vCenter Server page, select the existing vCenter server that you want to delete.

    Note

    Ensure that you do not have any onboarded resources that correspond to the vCenter server you intend to delete.

  2. Click Delete vCenter Server Delete.png.
  3. In the confirmation dialog box, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
