IBM LPAR integration enhancements

IBM LPAR integration with BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management includes the following capabilities:

  • Provisioning service offering instances (SOIs) on IBM pSeries as LPARs with IBM AIX OS
  • Supporting Logical Volumes and NPIV disks
  • Supporting shared memory pools
  • Decommissioning LPAR-based SOIs
  • Starting or stopping SOIs
  • Extending expiration dates
  • Adding secondary disks
  • Removing secondary disks (except for non-NPIV)
  • Installing software

Warning

Important

Because BMC Network Automation does not directly support LPAR, you must perform some manual integration for LPAR to function with BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management. For example, you must edit the pod and network container XML blueprints to be compatible with LPAR.

The Add NIC TRO option is not currently supported for LPAR.
