BMC ProactiveNet integration enhancements


Cloud performance analysis provided by integration with BMC ProactiveNet includes the following enhancements:

  • Automated monitoring at provisioning
  • Policy-based monitoring driven by policy tag on monitoring package in BMC Server Automation job
  • Awareness of BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management constructs such as tenants, compute pools, network containers, and service offering instances (SOIs)
  • Health analysis of resources from both an individual and pooled perspective
  • Real-time analytics and behavior learning
  • Root cause analysis to quickly isolate and remediate performance problems
  • Integrated UI with a traditional navigation tree plus a dynamic resource view and shared compute pool status display
  • Ability to launch the BMC ProactiveNet Operations Console directly from the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management – Administration Console Dashboards workspace

To enable or disable launching BMC ProactiveNet from BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management

  1. From the vertical Workspaces menu in the Administration Console, click Configuration.
  2. In the Configuration Options workspace, click the Console Preferences tab.
  3. In the Cloud Administrator Console Configuration section, set the BPPM Console Launch preference:
    • Select Show to enable launching the BMC ProactiveNet Operations Console from the Dashboards workspace.
    • Select Hide to disable launching the BMC ProactiveNet Operations Console from the Dashboards workspace.

To launch BMC ProactiveNet from BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management

  1. From the vertical Workspaces menu in the Administration Console, click Dashboards.
  2. In the Dashboards workspace, click launch-icon.pngand select Launch BPPM.
