Detaching storage from a VM

Before you can delete a storage service, you must ensure that the storage is detached from any virtual machines (VM)s.

To detach file system or block device storage from a VM

  1. From the list of services in the Services link bar of My Cloud Services Console, highlight the service containing the server from which you want to detach the storage.

  2. In the details pane below the list of service instances, right-click the server from which you want to detach storage and select Storage > Detach.

  3. In the Detach Storage dialog, select the storage instance that you want to detach from the server and click Detach.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
