Configuring Platform Manager


This topic provides instructions for configuring the Platform Manager in high availability (HA) and standalone (not high-availability) environments:

To configure Platform Manager in an HA environment

  1. On the Platform Manager host, navigate to the <Platform Manager installation directory>\configuration folder.
  2. Stop the BMC_CSM service.
  3. Open the config.ini file and add the following parameter before the org.osgi.service.http.port=8080 entry:
    org.osgi.service.http.ipaddress=<Cluster IP address>
  4. Clear the cache and log files:
    1. Navigate to the C:\ProgramFiles\BMCSoftware\BMCCloudLifeCycleManagement\Platform_Manager\configuration subdirectory and delete the org.eclipse.osgi folder.
    2. Navigate to the C:\ProgramFiles\BMCSoftware\BMCCloudLifeCycleManagement\Platform_Manager\cache subdirectory and delete all files.
    3. Navigate to the C:\ProgramFiles\BMCSoftware\BMCCloudLifeCycleManagement\Platform_Manager\Logs subdirectory and clear all log files.
    4. If BMC ProactiveNet and Performance Manager are not integrated with BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management, ensure that the {vg_sensors_onboard}} attribute is set to False in the Provider.JSON file. 

      Warning

      Note

      The Provider.JSON file is located in C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BMCCloudLifeCycleManagement\Platform_Manager\configuration.

  5. Start the BMC_CSM service and monitor csm log files, which are located in
    C:\ProgramFiles\BMCSoftware\BMCCloudLifeCycleManagement\Platform_Manager\Logs.

To configure Platform Manager in a stand-alone environment

  • (Microsoft Windows) Open the config.ini file and add the following parameter before the org.osgi.service.http.port=8080 entry:
      org.osgi.service.http.ipaddress=<Cluster IP address>
  • (Linux) Stop and start the bmccsm service from the /etc/init.d/ directory.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
