Known issues and workarounds in 2.1 SP2


The following table lists the known issues and any workarounds for BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 2.1 SP2.

Platform Manager installation finishes with warnings and the installation log contains the following message: Error while installing/starting the OSGI.

Workaround: Perform the following steps:

  1. On the computer on which you are installing Platform Manager, ensure that the BMCCSM service is running.
    If the service is not running, start it.
  2. If the <drive_letter>:\Program Files\BMC Software\BMCCloudLifeCycleManagement\Platform_Manager\logs\csm.log log file contains the following error message, restart the BMCCSM service: 


    com.bmc.cmdb.api.CMDBAPILogger - \-CMDBEndBulkEntryTransaction\\
    ERROR (9713): The attempted bulk entry transaction failed due to an error in one of the individual operations.; Operation 209 in bulk transaction failed\\
    ERROR (382): The value(s) for this entry violate a unique index that has been defined for this form; schema: BMC.CORE:BMC_BaseRelationship, entry: (Bulk Create), 1 unique index(es), field(s): 179

QM001740412

When a request is submitted to provision one VM, more than one provisioning request is created. This issue might occur when the CPU or disk for the BMC Remedy Action Request (AR) System enterprise server is overloaded.

Workaround: If this behavior occurs frequently, consider adding additional RAM or CPU resources to the BMC Remedy AR System enterprise server.

When you install BMC Remedy AR System Server & IT Service Mgt. Suite in a high availability (HA) environment, the AIS:GlobalPreferences form is not updated on BMC Remedy AR System Server & IT Service Mgt. Suite - Secondary with the hostname and ais port number. This issue might result in the Atrium Impact Simulation job to fail on BMC Remedy AR System Server & IT Service Mgt. Suite - Secondary when the Primary server is down.

Workaround: After you complete installing BMC Remedy AR System Server & IT Service Mgt. Suite - Secondary, manually add an entry in the AIS:GlobalPreferences form. For more information see the Implementing Atrium Impact Simulator cells in server group

Adding trial license keys to BMC Remedy AR System Server & IT Service Mgt. Suite and BMC Remedy AR System Server - Cloud Database causes post-installation configuration issues.
Workaround: You must add only non-trial license keys when applying licenses for the BMC Remedy AR System Server & IT Service Mgt. Suite and BMC Remedy AR System Server - Cloud Database products.
