Upgrading to version 2.1 SP1


Upgrading to BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management version 2.1 SP1 requires the following steps:

  1. Running the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management installer
  2. Upgrading required products and components
  3. Applying hotfixes
Warning

Note

You can upgrade to SP1 only from BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management version 2.1. You cannot upgrade to SP1 from other versions of BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management.

Running the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management installer

Run the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management installer according to the upgrade procedure.

Upgrading required products and components

You must upgrade the following products and components in the order listed:

  1. BMC BladeLogic Server Automation (the Application Server and the Console)
  2. PXE (preboot execution environment), if installed in your environment
  3. BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management cloud DB extensions
  4. Platform Manager (OSGi) server
  5. BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management cloud portal AR extensions

Applying hotfixes

Apply each hotfix according to its procedure.

Applying BMC BladeLogic Network Automation hotfix for knowledge article KA357836

This hotfix corrects these issues:

  • QM001719650
  • QM001719215
  • QM001719130
  • QM001711324

To install the hotfix

  1. Download the zipped hotfix file from the following FTP site to a temporary directory:
    BMC BladeLogic Networking Automation hotfix
  2. Unzip the file.
  3. Stop the BMC BladeLogic Network Automation ;web server.
  4. Navigate to C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BCA-Networks\tomcat\webapps.
  5. Back up the bca-networks.war file.
  6. Replace your existing .war file with the new .war file from the hotfix.
  7. Restart the BMC BladeLogic Network Automation web server.

Applying BMC Atrium CMDB Core hotfix for knowledge article KA357833

This hotfix corrects issue number SW00411209.

To install the hotfix

  1. Log onto the BMC Software Customer Support Knowledge Base.
  2. Enter the KA number in the Search field and click Ask.
  3. Download the zipped hotfix file and unzip the file.
  4. From the BMC Remedy User Tool, open the Data Visualization Module form .
  5. Search the form for the Name=AtriumWidget entry.
  6. Replace the existing file, atrium-widget.jar, with the new file from the hotfix and save the file.
  7. Open the Data Visualization System Files form .
  8. Search the form for the Name=aui-resources entry.
  9. Replace the existing file, aui-resources.zip, with the new file from the hotfix and save the file.
  10. Log out of the BMC Remedy User Tool and close all open sessions of the BMC Atrium Core Console.
  11. Restart the BMC Remedy Mid Tier.
  12. From BMC Remedy Developer Studio, import Enterprise_Side_Changes_For_BMC_Tag.def to the Enterprise server with overwrite set to true.
  13. From BMC Remedy Developer Studio, import Cloud_Side_Changes_For_BMC_Tag.def to the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management server with overwrite set to true.

Applying BMC Atrium CMDB Core hotfix for knowledge article KA357831

This hotfix corrects issue number QM001713628.  Perform these steps to install the hotfix:

Windows instructions

  1. Log onto the BMC Software Customer Support Knowledge Base.
  2. Enter the KA number in the search field and click Ask.
  3. Download the zipped hotfix file.
  4. Stop BMC Remedy AR System.
  5. Navigate to the AtriumCore installation folder and backup the existing file, arrecond.exe, as arrecond_orig.exe.
  6. Replace the existing arrecond.exe file with the new arrecond.exe file from the binary included in the hotfix.
  7. Restart BMC Remedy AR System.

UNIX instructions

  1. Log onto the BMC Software Customer Support Knowledge Base.
  2. Enter the KA number in the search field and click Ask.
  3. Download the zipped hotfix file.
  4. Stop BMC Remedy AR System.
  5. Navigate to the AtriumCore installation folder and backup the existing file, arrecond, as arrecond.orig.
  6. Replace the existing arrecond file with the new arrecond file from the binary included in the hotfix.
  7. Restart BMC Remedy AR System.
