Managing virtual load balancer pool entries


From the My Cloud Services Console, you can perform these tasks to manage virtual load balancer pool entries for servers:

  • Add a server to a virtual load balancer pool entry
  • Remove a server from a virtual load balancer pool entry
  • Enable or disable a virtual load balancer pool entry for a server

Note

If a server that is provisioned to a network container is part of the shared network infrastructure, meaning that the network container is a resource shared by other cloud customers, you cannot modify virtual load balancer pool entries for the server.

To add a server to a virtual load balancer pool entry

  1. From the Service Instances pane of My Cloud Services Console, double-click a service instance to display its server or servers.

  2. Select a server and click the Manage Virtual Load Balancer icon virtualLBicon.jpg.  The Edit Load Balancer Settings dialog box appears.

  3. Select the Network Interface for the pool.

  4. Click the Add Virtual Load Balancer Pool icon plusicon.jpg.  The Chose Load Balancers dialog box appears.chooseloadbalancerpoolsDB.jpg
  5. Select a virtual load balancer pool entry from the list.
  6. Choose whether to enable the virtual load balancer pool entry when added and whether to override the application protocol and port number of the virtual load balancer pool.
  7. Click OK.

To remove a server from a virtual load balancer pool entry

  1. From the From the Service Instances pane of My Cloud Services Console, double-click a service instance to display its server or servers.
  2. Select a server and click the Manage Virtual Load Balancer icon virtualLBicon.jpg.  The Edit Load Balancer Settings dialog box appears.
  3. Highlight the virtual load balancer pool entry you want to remove.
  4. Click the Remove Virtual Load Balancer Pool icon minusicon.jpg to remove the highlighted virtual load balancer pool entry.  A confirmation deletion pop up appears.
  5. Click Yes to confirm permanent deletion of the virtual load balancer pool entry.

To enable or disable a virtual load balancer pool entry for a server

  1. From the Service Instances pane of My Cloud Services Console, double-click a service instance to display its server or servers.
  2. Select a server and click the Manage Virtual Load Balancer icon virtualLBicon.jpg.  The Edit Load Balancer Settings dialog box appears.
  3. Highlight the virtual load balancer pool entry you want to enable or disable.highlightedVLBpool.jpg
  4. Click the Enable Pool icon  enablepoolicon.jpg or the Disable Pool icon disablepoolicon.jpg to change the status of the highlighted virtual load balancer pool entry for the server.
