Detaching storage from a VM

Before you can delete a storage service, you must ensure that the storage is detached from any VMs.

To detach file system or block device storage from a VM

  1. From the list of services in the Service Instances pane of My Cloud Services Console, double-click the VM from which you want to detach storage.

    The server level for the VM is displayed.

  2. Click the operator action icon operator_action_button.jpgand select Detach. If the Detach action fails to appear in the menu, ensure that the VM from which you want to detach storage is displayed at the server level.

  3. In the Detach Storage dialog box, highlight the storage that you want to detach and click Detach:

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
