Installer not responding on Linux systems

When you launch the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 2.1 installer on a target machine that is running in a Linux environment, the installation process goes into a not-responding state at the user input validation phase. This issue occurs because the DISPLAY environment variable might not be configured.

To set the DISPLAY environment variable

Note

Make sure that you use the XManager for connecting to the Linux machine and running the installer. Using VConsole for installation might generate errors.

Run the following command to set the DISPLAY environment variable: export DISPLAY=<IP address>:0.0

For example:
 [root@unixMachine Disk1]# export DISPLAY=172.23.53.11:0.0
 In the example, the IP address is of the machine where XManager is installed.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
