Manually installing the RSCD Agent

You might face situations where you must manually install the 64-bit RSCD Agent, instead of using the installer.

The RSCD agent allows the BladeLogic application server to manage other servers.

To manually install the RSCD Agent

  1. Obtain a license for the BMC BladeLogic Server Automation RSCD Agent. You must have a BMC BladeLogic support user name and password.
For more information about BladeLogic User credentials and licensing the RSCD Agent, see the BMC BladeLogic Server Automation Installation Guide 8.1.00 in Documentation-for-related-products

  2. If an older version of the RSCD Agent is already installed, uninstall it first using the BladeLogic Uninstaller.
  3. On the installer computer, navigate to the BL-VCAgent folder.
     Go to C:\InstallPlanner\media\Applications\BL-VCAgent\Win64.
  4. Copy the setup executable file.
  5. Paste the executable to the target computer.
  6. Manually launch the RSCD Agent installer.
