Installing BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management on Linux
Because the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Manager product is not available on Linux, the procedure for installing the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution differs slightly. To install the solution in a Linux environment, install BMC ProactiveNet Performance Manager components on Windows and all other products on Linux.
To install BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management on Linux
- Navigate to the installation directory on the CD or download the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution.
- Open the Planner folder.
- Open the Linux folder.
- Open the Disk 1 folder.
Launch the installer using XManager (recommended).
With Xmanager, X applications installed on remote UNIX based machines run seamlessly with Windows application side by side.- In the lower right corner of the Welcome page, click Next.
- Review the license agreement, click I agree to the terms of license agreement, and then click Next.
- On the Directory Selection window, navigate to the directory in which you want to install the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management 2.1 applications.
The default location is /opt/bmc/Planner. - Click Next.
- On the Installation Preview window, click Install.
- If NSH is not installed, the system prompts you to install it.
On the BMC BladeLogic Network Shell (NSH) installation window, navigate to the directory in which you want to install NSH. The default location is /opt/bmc/NSH. - Install the following components one at a time:
- BMC AR System Server & IT Service Mgt. Suite - Primary and BMC AR System Server - Cloud Database Primary.
- BMC Remedy AR System Mid Tier (required only for Small, Medium, and Large deployments)
- Atrium Core - Web Registry Components
- BMC Server Automation - App Server and Console
BMC Atrium Orchestrator- Server
- BMC Network Automation
- Exit the installer.
- To install BMC ProactiveNet Performance Manager components on Windows, open a command prompt window and type the following command:
setup.cmd -J release_dependencies=true
(For more information, see Installing-BMC-Cloud-Lifecycle-Management-on-Windows. - Specify the following host names for BMC ProactiveNet Performance Manager components and continue with the installation.
- For POC, specify the host name for the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Manager server.
- For Small, Medium, and Large deployments, specify the host names in the following order: BMC ProactiveNet Performance Manager Data Collection Host, BMC ProactiveNet Performance Manager Central Server, and BMC ProactiveNet Performance Manager server.
- Relaunch the installer on Linux by typing the following command:
setup.sh -J release_dependencies=true - Install Cloud Database Extensions, Cloud Platform Manager, and Cloud Portal AR Extensions.
