Backing up and reusing the product registry file

The product registry file (PlannerProductRegistry.xml) is important because it contains complete registration and configuration information about the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management products. You must back up the registry file on a different computer for:

  • Resuming installations after you close the installer
     For example, you would need the registry file if you finished installing BMC AR System Server & IT Service Mgt. Suite Primary and you want to install additional products on the next day. 

    Note

    The product registry file is updated with information from the most recent installation. If the installer is shut down due to unforeseen reasons (for example, system updates that restart the computer), you lose this information.

  • Running installations on different hosts

  • Troubleshooting failed installations

    The macro unmigrated-inline-wiki-markup from Confluence is no longer available.
