Recommended snapshot and backup checkpoints
The following table lists the checkpoints where BMC recommends that you take VM snapshots and database backups during the installation and post-installation process. Taking these recommended backups and snapshots will help you to recover from a failed installation.
After you complete the installation successfully, you can delete all intermediate snapshots to ensure that your host has enough resources available for the other applications to run.
Recommended checkpoints
In the table, "Before you begin the installation" means taking database backups and VM snapshots after you prepare the target host and after all the prerequisites are met — for example, after the JDK is installed, and the OS user, database, and database users are created for BMC Network Automation (as required by the product).
