You can create and delete virtual load balancer pools in a network container that has a virtual load balancer.

To create a virtual load balancer pool

  1. Access the Manage Virtual Load Balancers window as described in Managing-virtual-load-balancers.
  2. Click the Add Virtual Load Balancer Pool icon plus_button.gif.
The Create Virtual Load Balancer Pool dialog box is displayed.
    LBCreateVLBPool.gif
  3. Enter a unique name for the new virtual load balancer pool.

    Important

Do not include spaces in the virtual load balancer pool name. If spaces are included, a BMC Network Automation exception error is thrown. The text of the error message is similar to the one in this example:

ERROR 1:Root Cause Info:Severity: CRITICAL Error:
Cannot create Load Balancer Pool. Exception while creating LBP: Error in Add load balancer pools action 1 for device <name of network container> in BNA job <job number>: Device Create Pool communication failure.
ChatException: chat phrase [long command] found in [serverfarm New Pool ^ % long command detected at '^' marker. <server name/network container name Load Balancer name> ].
  4. Enter a useful description for the new pool.
  5. Select the transport protocol. For example, TCP, UDP, etc.
  6. (Optional) Choose an application protocol or enter a port number.
  7. Select the pool's network.
  8. Specify a virtual IP address by either selecting an existing address or by selecting Create New.
  9. (Optional) In the Additional Parameters section, select any additional parameters for the pool:
    1. Select the Vendor and Device Type.
These selections populate the Parameter options.
    2. Select the Parameter to pass to the load balancer.
    3. Enter a value for the selected parameter and click Add.
Continue to add parameters and values as needed.

      Note

You can set up additional parameters that can be selected, as described in Creating-custom-parameters-for-virtual-load-balancers.

  10. Click Save.
The virtual load balancer pool is created. You can manage pool entries as described in Creating-and-managing-server-entries-in-a-virtual-load-balancer-pool.

The macro unmigrated-inline-wiki-markup from Confluence is no longer available.
