Windowed mode for the Self Service Portal

Windowed mode is a separate browser window for the Self Service Portal. In windowed mode, the Self Service Portal appears as if it were an application and typical browser controls are hidden. The Self Service Portal opens in windowed mode when a user follows a URL that specifies both the height and width of the browser window, as in the following example:

http://serverName:port/eschat?width=480&height=670

serverName is the BMC Remedy Mid Tier server on which BMC Virtual Chat is installed. port is the port for the BMC Remedy Mid Tier.

Width and height are specified in pixels. The minimum width is 480 pixels, and the minimum height is 670 pixels. Although BMC Virtual Chat does not have either a maximum height or maximum width, you should specify dimensions that are appropriate for the typical user's device. With some browsers, the user can resize the browser window. Users who connect with Microsoft Internet Explorer cannot resize the browser.

If you specify only the width or only the height, but not both, the Self Service Portal opens in a browser window with full browser controls, instead of windowed mode.
