Benefits of Single Sign-On
The implementation of Single Sign-On provides the following benefits to your organization:
- Leveraging Existing Identity Database: Most companies today use a central directory to manage user credentials. By delegating Salesforce authentication to an existing database, user authentication can be made against existing user credentials database. For example: Once a user is removed from central directory, the user cannot access the Salesforce application.
- Time Saving: On an average, a user requires 10-20 seconds to enter the login credentials and login into an application. If the user mistypes the credentials, it takes even longer to login. Implementing Single Sign-On, nullifies the need to enter the login credentials manually. This helps increase productivity.
- Increased Security: Password policies for corporate network are enforced for Salesforce. This leads to an increase in the security of passwords.
