Managing filter presets

Presets are a collection of pre-selected filter and sorting configurations in the Real-time incident correlation dashboard.

By using presets, you can complete the following tasks:

  • Creating and applying your filter preferences and your preferred sort view in a few steps
  • Extending your filter and sort view preferences to other users in your team
  • Getting started quickly with the recommended default settings

The following figure shows an example of filter presets:

You can share your presets with other users to let them view clusters based on your preferred sort view and filters.

To create a custom preset filter

You can create a custom preset filter to save your sort view and filter preferences as required for your line of business. To enable the preset filter that you created and view the clusters, you must select the filter in the dashboard.

  1. Navigate to the Real-time incident correlation dashboard.
  2. Apply the filters of your choice and select a view from the Sort by list.
The change in the default preset is indicated by theimage-2023-10-26_12-6-52.pngindicator that appears next to the Default preset.
  3. Click Save as.

    Important

    • If you delete a shared preset that is used by other users, they can no longer view and use it.
    • If you rename a shared preset, the change is updated for all users with whom the preset is shared when they reopen the dashboard.

To share a preset filter

You can share your presets with other users to let them view clusters based on your preferred sort view and filters.

Best practice
If you edit or rename a shared preset, the change is updated for all users with whom the preset is shared. To avoid confusion, we recommend that you use preset names that are unique to all such users.

  1. From the presets list, select a preset filter that you want to share.
  2. Select  image-2023-10-26_12-24-24.png> Share.
  3. In the Share preset with box, enter the user that you want to share the preset with.
    image-2023-10-26_12-55-19.png
  1. Click Add.
The added users appear in the Recipients section.
  2. Click Save.
The preset is shared with the intended recipients. Presets shared with other users are indicated by image-2023-10-26_13-40-10.pngnext to them.

Important

  • You can share only those presets created by you.
  • Typically, you can share presets with any ITSM users. However, the user must have Incident master or Incident User permission to view the clusters in the Real-time incident correlation dashboard.
  • If you delete a shared preset that is used by other users, they can no longer view and use it.

To accept a shared preset filter

You can add and select presets shared by other users with you. When you add and select such a preset, you can view clusters based on their view
and filter preferences.

  1. From the preset menu, in the Shared with me section, click image-2023-10-26_13-31-53.png.
The list of presets shared with you by all users is displayed.

  2. Select the presets shared with you and click Add.
(Optional) Alternatively, you can search for a preset from the list and click Add.
The added preset is displayed in the Shared with me section.
