23.4.02

Modify multiple events

On the Events page, modify common event slots present in multiple events at once to add additional context to events. Use this feature to modify common event slots faster.

For more information, see the following topics:

View detailed time stamps in the Logs and Notes tab

In the Logs & Notes tab of the Event details page, drill down to see the time stamp value in seconds and milliseconds. The detailed time stamp helps you to easily differentiate the execution time of various policies that are executed on an event.

For more information, see Viewing or adding notes to an event.

Restrict data collection on dynamic instances for SAP

Use the SAP monitoring solution to discover dynamic instances. You can restrict data collection on the dynamic instances by using the Deactivate Monitor Attributes page. Restrict data collection on some or all dynamic instances or some or all attributes on all dynamic instances. For more information, see Restricting data collection for monitor attributes.

Service Monitoring enhancements

This release includes the following service monitoring enhancements.

Automatic data refresh for Overview and Service Details pages

The Overview page is automatically refreshed every five minutes. By default, the Service Details page is not refreshed automatically.

You can change the refresh interval for these pages or turn it off from the General Settings page.

For more information, see Configuring general settings for the console.

Change in the direction of relationships in a service hierarchy

The direction of a relationship between services is reversed. An arrow line between two services indicates the direction of propagation of the impact between a parent service and child service.

23.4.01

View unique log records for configurations in event policies

View unique log records for different configurations of the same or different policy types. Use the logs to understand and track the different configurations that are applied to events in each policy phase to troubleshoot event processing.

For more information, see Viewing or adding notes to an event.

Specify slot placeholders in notification policies

Specify incoming event slot values in the email address of notification policies. Use slot placeholders to dynamically specify email recipients and send event notifications to alert users.

For more information, see the following topics:

Here, email is a custom slot of the event class.

Ignore invalid events in an event batch

Use the POST/events endpoint to ingest valid events from a batch without rejecting the entire batch, even if some events are invalid.

For more information, see Managing events with REST APIs.

Track change requests from BMC Helix ITSM

If you have subscribed to BMC Helix AIOps and BMC Helix IT Service Management , you can track change request details from BMC Helix IT Service Management on the Others tab of the Event Details page.

For more information, see the following topics:

You can also view change requests as situations in BMC Helix AIOps . For more information, see Investigating ML-based situations. Open link

Service Monitoring enhancements

View baselines and event indicators in metric graphs

View baselines on the health indicator, event metrics, and performance view graphs. These baselines represent the reference range of normal and expected behavior of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.

In addition, event indicators on these graphs help you quickly identify the metrics that have violated the baseline.

For more information, see Monitoring service health indicators and Performing causal analysis of impacted services.

Automatic data refresh for Services and Situations pages

The Services and Situations pages are automatically refreshed every 5 minutes. Change the refresh interval or turn it off from the General Settings page.

The AIOps Dark Theme setting is moved to the General Settings page from the Manage Product Features page. The general settings apply to the logged-in user only.

For more information, see Configuring general settings for the console.

Specify variables and event slots when adding notes

Add more context to events by using the Add Note function in advanced enrichment policies. You can use this function to specify variables and event slots.

For more information, see Event functions.

Support for additional characters in the _identifier slot

BMC Helix Operations Management supports the colon (:) and at (@) characters in the _identifier slot of the event class in addition to the supported characters. Use the additional characters to specify the value in the _identifier slot of an event.

For more information, see the following topics:

Enhanced service modeling to connect services

When creating a service model, you can use the Connect to parent Service and Connect to child Service options to easily connect services. These options help you choose the child and parent service of a service from a list. You do not need to scroll on the page and use the drag and drop option to connect services.

For more information, see Modeling services.

Business services and technical services on the Services page

On the Services page in the BMC Helix AIOps console, by default, only business services and technical services are displayed. Use Advanced filter to view business applications along with the services on the Heatmap view.

For more information, see Monitoring service health
