Connecting with automation tools
BMC Helix Intelligent Automation is an automation aggregator. It enables organizations to identify automation opportunities and connect with automation tools to define policies that trigger remediation actions, ensuring no loss to service performance.
By using connectors, automation engineers integrate the product with third-party automation tools to run remediation actions. This integration provides the following benefits:
Integrate data: Connectors enable data exchange between systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy of information.
Leverage existing process automation: Automated processes across different systems can improve efficiency, accuracy, and reduce the risk of manual errors. By connecting to the automation tool, you can use existing process automations and avoid the effort of re-creating rules, workflows, and processes.
Improved MTTR: Connectors provide real-time information and updates, which improves the remediation response time and minimizes downtime.
BMC Helix Intelligent Automation provides out-of-the-box connectors for the following automation tools:
Automation tools | Description | Supported deployment | For more information |
---|---|---|---|
AWS | Terminate, start, or stop your AWS Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances. | Cloud | Connecting with Amazon Web Services EC2 |
Ansible | Execute actions related to job templates and workflow templates. | On-premises | Connecting with Ansible Tower application |
BMC Helix Innovation Studio | Run processes that are available in BMC Helix Innovation Suite. | Cloud | Connecting with BMC Helix Innovation Studio |
Kubernetes | Modify Kubernetes deployment sizing based on the recommended settings. | On-premises | Connecting with Kubernetes application |
REST APIs | Connect with applications that provide RESTful Web Services. Unlike other connectors, the Generic REST API connector does not establish a real-time communication channel with the specified endpoint. It is established every time an action is executed as part of an automation policy. | Cloud and On-premises | Connecting with REST APIs |
TrueSight Orchestration | Run workflows available in TrueSight Orchestration. | On-premises | Connecting with TrueSight Orchestration application |
TrueSight Server Automation | Run Network Shell (NSH) jobs in TrueSight Server Automation. | On-premises | Connecting with TrueSight Server Automation |
