Asset Overview dashboard

As a dashboard user, you can use the Asset Overview dashboard to get an overview of Computer Systems assets such as the number of unassigned assets, number of refreshed assets, number of scanned assets, the distribution details of unassigned, refreshed, and scanned assets, and so on.For instructions on creating or editing dashboards, see Configuring dashboards, panels, and queries. Example: Tracking unassigned assets

Garth, the asset manager wants to ensure that the assets are utilized efficiently. For this, Garth wants to know the count of unassigned assets over the past 60 days.

The following image shows the Asset Overview dashboard with sample data:

To view the dashboard

  1. On the left navigation pane, hover your mouse over the Dashboards icon and click Browse.
  2. Click the Helix ITSM folder and then click Asset Overview.

    Tip: Quick access from the home page

    To quickly open the dashboard from the home page, mark it as a favorite by using the star icon. Additionally, after you open a dashboard, it is available under Recently viewed dashboards on the home page.

Panels in the Asset Overview dashboard

Dashboard filters

Displays the following custom filters to view the asset overview information on the dashboard:

  • Company
  • Site
  • Primary Capability
  • Managed By
  • Status

Additionally, you can filter the data by using the date and time range global filter. By default, the search result displays the data of last 30 days.

Unassigned AssetsDisplays the total number of unassigned assets along with number of days for which they are unassigned.

Refreshed AssetsDisplays the total number of refreshed assets along with the number of days in a pie chart.

Scanned AssetsDisplays the total number of assets that are scanned for vulnerability checks in a pie chart.

Unassigned Asset Distribution

Displays the distribution of unassigned assets for each manager in a cross-tab based on the following parameters:

  • Manager
  • Age

You can click the value of the unassigned assets to view the asset details. The asset details are displayed in the Asset Details - Drill-through dashboard.

On the Asset Details - Drill-through dashboard, when you click the asset name, it opens the asset record in Smart IT.

Refreshed Asset Distribution

Displays the distribution of refreshed assets for each manager in a cross-tab based on the following parameters:

  • Manager
  • Age

You can click the value of the refreshed assets to view the asset details. The asset details are displayed in the Asset Details - Drill-through dashboard.

On the Asset Details - Drill-through dashboard, when you click the asset name, it opens the asset record in Smart IT.

Scanned Asset Distribution

Displays the distribution of assets by location in a cross-tab based on the following parameters:

  • Site
  • Manager
  • Primary Capability

You can click the value of the assets to view the asset details. The asset details are displayed in the Asset Details - Drill-through dashboard.

On the Asset Details - Drill-through dashboard, when you click the asset name, it opens the asset record in Smart IT.
