Provider vDCs page in the vCloud view
A Provider Virtual Data Center (PvDC) combines the compute and memory resources of a single vCenter Server resource pool with the storage resources of one or more data stores connected to that resource pool. You can create multiple provider vDCs for users in different geographic locations or business units, or for users with different performance requirements. A PvDC is used as the source for Organization vDCs.
To access this page, in the Views tab, select Views > Cloud > vCloud and click the Provider vDCs tab.
The following figure shows the Provider vDCs view page displaying the provider vDCs related information.
Provider vDCs table
The Provider vDCs table lists all Provider vDCs of the vCloud view contained in the selected vCloud.
Each row corresponds to the Provider vDC and displays the following information. By default, some columns are hidden. You can show or hide columns using the action menuthat is located next to the table title. You can sort columns in tables alphabetically, or by size. For more information, see Managing charts and tables in Views.

#vCPU ON | Total numbers of virtual CPUs for VMs that are turned ON. | Computed based on last values | VCPU_ON_NUM, CPU_NUM |
VCPU Residual Capacity | Total amount of VCPU residual capacity. | Computed based on last values | Computed using IND_VCPU_SIZE and VCPU_ON_NUM |
Bottleneck Resource | Name of the resource that has either saturated or will saturate in the next 30 days. Bottleneck resource can be CPU, MEMORY or STORAGE. The field is blank if none of the resources has saturated, or will saturate. | Computed using total capacity and 95th utilization of CPU, Memory and Storage | IND_BNECK_RESOURCE |
Days To Saturation | The projected amount of time before one of the resources (CPU, MEMORY, STORAGE) runs out of available capacity. It displays a number of days to saturation for the least available resource. | Computed using total capacity and 95th utilization of CPU, Memory and Storage | IND_DAYS_TO_SATURATION |
For more information on the Days to Saturation and other indicator parameters used for metric computations in this view, see Indicators.
Notes
- All values in charts and tables are calculated over the last seven days, and data trends are calculated over the current and previous month.
- Metrics are calculated as an average of the analysis period, unless specified otherwise.
