Reviewing team assignment options

This topic troubleshoots the team assignment after migrating from FootPrints version 11.0 to FootPrints version 12.0.

The following table describes team assignment in FootPrints version 11.0 and FootPrints version 12.0:

Teams

When a team is assigned, the Assignment Method options in teams administration handle the assignment of a ticket. To set the permissions, navigate to Administration > Workspace > Teams > (team) > Field Permissions. The following image displays options in Assignment Method:
 

Teams, Business Rules

  • The Assignment Method options for teams are not available in teams administration.
  • You can create business rules to accomplish the functionality of the following options:
    Assign individual member(s)
    Assign all members, and 
    Leave Assigned to Team.
  • The round-robin assignment method and associated options are not supported yet.

Resolution

The following points address resolution to each of the FootPrints version 11.0 assignment methods.

  • Leave Assigned to Team: This is the default behavior in FootPrints version 12.0 for the assignment method. You don't need to configure a rule or set any other configuration options to use this method.
  • Assign all members: To accomplish this method, select all team members for Selected Members in the action of the rule below.
    Note that if the team membership changes, you must update the rule. The system automatically updates the team members selected in this rule.
  • Dynamically assign based on round-robin rule: This option is not supported in FootPrints version 12.0 yet.
  • Assign individual member(s): You can create a rule to use this assignment method in FootPrints version 12.0.

To create a rule to assign records to individual members or all members:

  1. Navigate to Administration > Workspaces > (workspace) > Record Definitions > (ticket) > Business Rules.
  2. Create a new rule with the following settings:
    • Trigger: After Save (On Create, On Update)
    • Criteria: Assignees equal to team
    • Action: Change assignment of Ticket (Assignees, selected members, Reassign)
