Reviewing Form Designer drafts

This topic troubleshoots migration of Form Designer drafts from FootPrints version 11.0 to version 12.0.

Description

The following table describes Form Designer drafts in FootPrints version 11.0 and version 12.0:

FootPrints version 11.0FootPrints version 12.0

Form Designer

  • The FootPrints version 11.0 instance has workspaces with saved drafts of the ticket form.

Forms

  • After migrating to FootPrints version 12.0, the Form Designer drafts are not migrated and only the current published form for each workspace is migrated.
  • The changes saved in the draft are not included in the FootPrints version 12.0 form.

Resolution

To address this issue, review your FootPrints version 11.0 for workspaces having saved drafts. Review the draft in Form Designer to determine, if there are changes you want to make to your FootPrints version 12.0 form.

  1. Navigate to Administration > Workspace > Form Designer.
  2. The system shows a message if you have a saved draft . Select one of the following options:
    • If you have completed your review and do not want to retain any saved changes in the draft, click Discard Draft
Check whether the form design on FootPrints version 12.0 matches the FootPrints 11.0 version form.
    • If you want to review the draft first, then click Continue Draft and review the form. You can compare the version 11.0 form design against the migrated form on your FootPrints version 12.0 instance.
      1. If you have completed your review and you do not want to keep any changes saved in the draft, from the Actions menu, click Discard Draft.
The form design on FootPrints version 12.0 and version 11.0 are same.
      2. To publish the form, from the Form Designer palette, click Publish Form.
This allows you to keep the changes on the form and migrate the changes to the FootPrints version 12.0 form.
      3. To configure the changes on your FootPrints version 12.0 instance, navigate to Administration > Workspaces > (workspace name) > Record Definitions > (ticket) > Forms.

If you no longer use the FootPrints version 11.0, ensure that the correct design of your FootPrints version 12.0 form is saved. Also, ensure that you discard draft that is not required. However, if you need to rerun the Migration Advisor report or compare the FootPrints version 11.0 and FootPrints version 12.0 instances, you do not need to review the possible discrepancies in the form designs.
