Troubleshooting people information

You can troubleshoot issues related to people's information. For example, only a single cost center is displayed even if there are multiple cost centers for an asset.

Issue symptom

For a specific CI in the Asset Management Console, the drop-down menu displays only one cost center.

Issue scope

When the Asset Admin or the Asset User, with Cost Manager permissions, clicks the Cost Center field for a specific CI in the Asset Management Console and that specific cost center is assigned to the user either as a primary or secondary cost center. 

Resolution

1. Open the Application Administration Console.
2. Select Custom Configuration > Foundation > People, and then double-click People.
3. On the Person ID form, search for the required user and click the Financials tab.
4. Under the Cost Center Information section, delete the value from the Primary Cost Center Code+ field.
5. In the table under the Secondary Cost Centers section, select all the displayed records and click Remove.
6. Click Save.
   This ensures that no cost centers are assigned to the user and that all the available cost centers are displayed in the Cost Center field for that particular user.

Issue symptom

You cannot assign the Deployment Manager role.

Issue scope

Allow a CTM:People defined user access to AR Deployment Manager with the Deployment Manager role with relevant Permission Group without the need to assign AR Administrator permission.

Resolution

1. In AR System, create a permission group in the Groups form, such as Deployment Application and map this group to the Deployment Manager role in the Roles form.

2. Depending on whether ITSM is installed on your system, do one of the following actions:

• • If BMC Helix ITSM is not installed:
    Assign the permission group you created in step 1 to the user by using the User form.
  • If BMC Helix ITSM  is installed:
  1. 1. In the LIC:SYS-License Permission Map form, enter the following set of values:
        • Permission group—Name of the group created
        • License Required—None
        • System Lock—Yes
        • View Access—Public
        • Navigation Tier—AR System
        • Status—Enabled
     2. Save the form.
        You can now assign the Deployment Application Permission Group to the user in the CTM:People form.
