Installation order and product dependencies
This section describes the order that you must follow when you install the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution. In this section, the following topics are provided:
Before you begin
Use the planning spreadsheet to help prepare input values for the installer. To avoid installation errors, refer to the spreadsheet when you run the installation. For more information, see Planning your installation.
Installation order and product dependencies
Install the products of the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution in the sequence shown in the following table. Some products in the solution depend on other products being installed first, and products are enabled for installation based on their dependencies. For example, the Cloud Database Extensions installation field is enabled when you provide a host name during the BMC AR System Server - Cloud Portal and Database - Primary installation.
When you launch the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management Installer, it validates the products that you select for installation and verifies their dependencies. If you choose to install a product that has a dependency, the installer instructs you to first install its dependency. For example, you are prompted to install BMC Atrium Orchestrator - Server before you install Cloud Platform Manager.
As shown in this example, you can enter all the target hosts before you start installation. Only required products were selected. If necessary, you can install products in multiple sessions.

AR System Mid Tier | AR System Mid Tier is already installed with BMC AR System Server - Cloud Portal and Database - Primary for all deployment types. To improve performance for the small and medium deployments, install AR System Mid Tier on a separate host. Note: For small and medium deployment types, the mid tier service is stopped by default after installation. AR System Mid Tier depends upon the BMC AR System Server - Cloud Portal and Database -Primary. |
Atrium Core - Web Registry Components | To avoid installation issues with this product, do not install it on the same hosts as BMC AR System Server - Cloud Portal and Database - Primary or BMC Remedy Mid Tier. |
(Optional) BMC Server Automation - File Server | To improve performance, install the file server on a separate host. This product installation has no dependencies. Note: If the file server is a remote file server (not installed on the same host as the BMC Server Automation - App Server & Console), install it before you install BMC Server Automation - App Server & Console. |
BMC Server Automation - App Server & Console | Install the primary application server and Automation Console. This installation creates two application instances: one configuration server and one job server. This product depends on BMC AR System Server - Cloud Portal and Database - Primary. If you plan to install BMC Server Automation - File Server on a separate host, install it before installing BMC Server Automation - App Server & Console. Note: Ensure that you use the host name when installing BMC Server Automation instead of using the fully qualified domain name (FQDN). Otherwise, the domain name is truncated due to the character limit. |
(Optional) BMC Server Automation - Multiple App Server (MAS) | Install this product on secondary computer to provide multiple Application Server (MAS) support. This installation creates two application instances: one configuration server and one job server. This product installation is required only in a MAS environment. You must install BMC Server Automation - App Server & Console before BMC Server Automation - MAS. Note: Ensure that you use the host name when installing BMC Server Automation instead of using the fully qualified domain name (FQDN). Otherwise, the domain name is truncated due to the character limit. |
