Configuring the BMC Remedy Mid Tier for HA

This topic provides instructions for configuring BMC Remedy Mid Tier (mid tier) for high availability (HA).

To specify the AR System Server load balancer details

  1. Open the mid tier configuration tool by using the following example:
    http://<Mid_Tier_hostname>:<port>/arsys/shared/config/config.jsp
  2. From the navigation pane, select AR Server Settings.
  3. Click Add Server and specify the load balancer name of the Enterprise AR System server, port, and password details.
  4. From the navigation pane, select General Settings.
  5. For the Preference Server(s), Data Visualization Module Server(s), Homepage Server, and Authentication Server fields, select the enterprise AR System server host name from the drop-down list.
  6. Save the changes.

To enable the AR System object list

  1. Open the mid tier configuration tool by using the following example:
    https://<Mid_Tier_hostname>:<port>/arsys/shared/config/config.jsp
  2. On the AR Servers page, ensure that the home page server is listed in the servers list.
  3. From the navigation pane, select General Settings:
    1. Verify that you have set a home page server.
    2. Select the Enable Object List check box.
    3. Import the definition files to your home page server.

Importing the definition files

Definition files of different locales are installed with the mid tier. The default location of the definition files

is midTierInstallDir\samples\ARSystemMidTierObjectList.def.

  1. Open BMC Remedy Developer Studio.
  2. Select File > Import and import the ARSystemMidTierObjectList.def to the home page server. This definition file provides the default view and the related workflow in English.

    Note

    If you require on the English version of this form, you need to import only the ARSystemMidTierObjectList.def file.

  3. For localized views, browse to the samples directory and import the appropriate localized ARSystemMidTierObjectList_locale.def file. You can also obtain the AR System Object List with the following URLs:
