BMC Atrium Integrator checks

The Remedy Configuration Check utility performs the following checks on Atrium Integrator. The expected results are described in addition to corrective actions you can take if a check fails.

This topic describes the following checks:

NGIE installer configuration XML check

Description
  • This check verifies whether the Atrium Integrator configuration file AIntInstalledConfiguration.xml is present in the Atrium Integrator installation directory.
  • This check fetches the Atrium Integrator installation directory from the environment variable set by the Atrium Integrator installer.
TypePre-upgrade check
Check performed and expected resultThe check passes if the AIntInstalledConfiguration.xml file is present in the Atrium Integrator installation directory.
Corrective action

Ensure that:

  • The ATRIUMINTEGRATOR_HOME environment variable is set.
  • BMC Atrium Integrator is installed on the computer on which the check is performed.
  • The AIntInstalledConfiguration.xml file is not moved, renamed, or deleted from the ATRIUMINTEGRATOR_HOME folder.

NGIE version check

Description

This check detects the NGIE Installer configuration file. If the configuration file is present, it reads the following feature version from the AIntInstalledConfiguration.xml file:

  • featureAInt
  • featureAIntServer
  • featureAIntContent

This check compares the major and minor versions of each feature with BMC Atrium Integrator version on the SHARE:Application_Properties form.

For example, if the release version is 19.02.01, the major version is 19.02 and the minor version is 01.

TypePre-upgrade check
Check performed and expected resultBMC Atrium Integrator component version is same as BMC Atrium Integrator version on the SHARE:Application_Properties form.
Corrective action

Ensure that:

  • If there is version mismatch, ensure that the AIntInstalledConfiguration.xml file is created during the BMC Atrium Integrator installation and is not copied from any location.
  • Ensure that the ATRIUMINTEGRATOR_HOME environment variable is pointing to the correct BMC Atrium Integrator installation directory.  Also, ensure that the value of the environment variable is correct.
  • Ensure that the AR System Server mentioned in the Remedy Configuration Check utility and the server where Remedy Atrium Integrator is installed are the same.

NGIE UDM configuration check

Description

This check:

  • Verifies whether the AR System server is listed in the UDM:Config form.
  • Ensures that the default server is set in the UDM:Config form and the Is Default check box is selected for the configured server.  
  • Ensures that all AR System servers that are added to the AR System Server Group Operation Ranking form are listed in the server list on the UDM:Config form.
TypePre-upgrade check
Check performed and expected resultAn error message is displayed if the Server-Connect-Name is missing in the UDM:Config form.
Corrective action

Ensure that:

  • The Server-Connect-Name is present in the UDM:Config form.
  • The AR System server is up and running and you have provided a correct password.
  • The AR System server listed in the Remedy Configuration Check utility report and the server where Remedy Atrium Integrator is installed are the same. For more information, see Configuration form  in Remedy AR System online documentation.
