Installing BMC Remedy ITSM

Depending on the needs of your organization, you can install one or more of the BMC Remedy ITSM applications. If you are installing only some of the BMC Remedy ITSM applications now, you can install the others later without having to perform any special integration procedures. If BMC Service Level Management is already installed on your system, the individual BMC Remedy ITSM application installers detect it and install integration software when the installers finish. The integration software is shipped with the BMC Service Level Management application.

Each BMC Remedy IT Service Management (ITSM) application contains the consoles, forms, active links, escalations, flashboards, and so on, needed to run their basic functions. The applications also use several integrated modules and supporting applications that extend and enhance these basic functions.

BMC Remedy ITSM installation comprises the following stages:

Stage 3: Perform the post-installation procedure for BMC Remedy ITSM

Use one of the following installation methods to install Remedy ITSM:

When you start the installer, you can choose one or more applications or features to install.

You can choose to perform the installation in phases or all at once. Installing in phases enables you to perform configuration checks and validations, resolve any issues, and capture the installation options so you can start the installation at a later time. Install in silent mode if you do not want UI interaction.

2.Install the Help systemTo make Help available to the application's users, you must install the Help system on a computer that is running a web server, which is typically a different computer from the computer where the application is installed.

1.BMC Remedy ITSM postinstallation proceduresAfter the installation of BMC Remedy ITSM Suite Preconfigured Stack 9.0.00 is complete, post-installation checks are automatically run for the installed BMC Remedy AR System server components. You can also run the post-installation checks through the BMC Remedy AR System Maintenance Tool by using the Health Check tab.
