Uninstalling Remedy SSO

Depending on whether you have installed Remedy SSO using the Remedy SSO installer or TrueSight Remedy SSO installer, use the corresponding option to uninstall Remedy SSO:

To uninstall Remedy SSO using the TrueSight uninstaller

If you have installed Remedy SSO using the TrueSight installer, you can uninstall it using the wizard or silently.

Uninstalling using the wizard

(Linux) If you have enabled automatic restart of the Remedy Single Sign-On service, disable the automatic restart of the service by doing the following:
1. As a root user, log in to the computer on which you have installed Remedy SSO.
2. Navigate to the <installationDirectory>/rsso/bin directory and run the following command:
  ./rsso service deregister
Log in to the computer on which you have installed Remedy SSO (as a non-root user on Linux).
Navigate to the following directory:
- (Windows) <instalationlDirectory>\UninstallBMCTrueSightRSSO
- (Linux) <instalationlDirectory>/UninstallBMCTrueSightRSSO
Run the following command to uninstall:
- (Windows) uninstall.exe
- (Linux) ./uninstall.bin
The uninstallation preview is displayed.
Click Uninstall to start the uninstallation.
Manually delete the installation files that might still remain in the installation directory.
(Windows) Go to the Control Panel and remove the program files related to Remedy Single Sign-On.

Uninstalling silently

(Linux) If you have enabled automatic restart of the Remedy Single Sign-On service, disable the automatic restart of the service by doing the following:
1. As a root user, log in to the computer on which you have installed Remedy SSO.
2. Navigate to the <installationDirectory>/rsso/bin directory, and run the following command:
  ./rsso service deregister
Log in to the computer on which you have installed Remedy SSO (as a non-root user on Linux).
Navigate to the following directory:
- (Windows) <instalationlDirectory>\UninstallBMCTrueSightRSSO
- (Linux) <instalationlDirectory>/UninstallBMCTrueSightRSSO
Run the following command from the command prompt:
- (Windows) uninstall.exe -i silent
- (Linux) ./uninstall.bin -i silent
Manually delete the installation files that might still remain in the installation directory.
(Windows) Go to the Control Panel and remove the program files related to Remedy Single Sign-On.

To uninstall Remedy SSO manually

If you have used the Remedy SSO installer to install Remedy SSO, there is no wizard-based or tool-based option to uninstall the product. You must manually uninstall Remedy SSO and associated components:

(Linux) If you have enabled automatic restart of the Remedy Single Sign-On service, disable the automatic restart of the service by doing the following:
1. As a root user, log in to the computer on which you have installed Remedy SSO.
2. Navigate to the <installationDirectory>/rsso/bin directory, and run the following command:
  ./rsso service deregister
Log in to the computer on which you have installed Remedy SSO. If using Linux, log in as a root or non-root user based on the type of user that you used while installing Remedy SSO.
Stop the Tomcat server on which Remedy SSO is installed.
Delete the <tomcat_folder>/webapps/rsso directory.
Delete the <remedysso_installation_folder> directory.
- (Linux) Default location: /opt/bmc/RemedySSO
- (Windows) Default location: C:\Program Files\BMC Software\RemedySSO
Delete the database.
(Optional) If you do not plan to reinstall Remedy SSO on the same host computer, you can manually delete the installation files that might still remain in the installation directory. However, if you plan to reinstall the Remedy SSO, some of these residual files contain log information and therefore, it is recommended not to clean all the remaining files and folders.
