Understanding display precedence for event table view

Event Table Views are the grid configuration preferences for the Events view on the TrueSight console. You can use the Manage Table View page to customize the information that is displayed in the events table view.

You can associate multiple table views to your Events table:

Consider the following scenario in which you want to view the Intelligent events on the Events page:

  • Selected events group is intelligent events and has the associated table view as Intelligent table view which includes basic information and Alarm ID columns.
  • Custom filter has the associated table view as Alarms table view which includes basic information, Alarm ID, and IsPredictive columns.
  • Selected table view using the Change Table View icon on toolbar is Alarms extensions table view which includes basic information, Alarm ID, Monitoring Type ID, and Monitoring Instance ID columns.

The following table explains which table view gets the precedence in certain scenarios:

When you select the table view from event group, custom filter, and the Change Table View icon on toolbar, the table view selected using the toolbar gets the precedence and events are displayed with the columns of the selected table view from the toolbar.

You can remove the selected table view of the toolbar using the Clear Table View option. When you clear the table view, the table view associated with custom filter gets the precedence and events are displayed with the columns of the associated table view of custom filter.

Similarly, if there is no table view selected for custom filter or toolbar, the table view associated with event group gets the precedence and events are displayed with the columns of the associated table view of event group.

When there is no table view associated, the events are displayed with the columns of the Basic Information table view.
