10.7.00 enhancements
This topic provides information about the enhancements and features introduced in version 10.7.00 of PATROL Agent.
Platform support for TLS compliant PATROL Agents
The TLS 1.2 compliant PATROL Agent is now supported on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.1, PowePC Little Endian operating system.
Enhanced PATROL Agent data security
With this release of TrueSight Infrastructure Management, you can enhance the PATROL Agent data security by encrypting it with keys exchanged through the key exchange process between the TrueSight Presentation Server and the PATROL Agent. The PATROL Agent data that can be secured through this exchanged key encryption are:
- Infrastructure Management policy data credentials, and the PATROL Agent query command credentials that are sent to the PATROL Agent.
- Policy data credentials stored in the policy store of the TrueSight Presentation Server.
By default, during the TrueSight Presentation Server installation, a unique key is generated that is used to encrypt the PATROL Agent data. This key is shared with the PATROL Agent. The PATROL Agent uses this unique key to decrypt the data received from the TrueSight Presentation Server. Post the TrueSight Presentation Server installation, you can change this key using a CLI command in the Presentation Server.

Enhancing the PATROL Agent data security in TrueSight Operations Management.
Customized parameter alert event messages
Parameter alert event messages of type 9 and 11 are now customized to make them more intuitive. The following example illustrates both the earlier and new message formats:
#Example event message of type 11 as per the new format
CPUprcrProcessorTimePercent for NT_CPU/CPU__Total is in WARNING current value is 9.790934
#Example event message of type 11 as per the old format
Alarm #1 of global parameter 'CPUprcrProcessorTimePercent' triggered on 'NT_CPU.CPU__Total'. 5 <= 11.41 <= 95
#Example event message of type 9 as per the new format
CPUprcrProcessorTimePercent for NT_CPU/CPU_0 is now OK - current value is 9.562570
#Example event message of type 9 as per the old format
Alert on 'NT_CPU.CPU__Total.CPUprcrProcessorTimePercent' from global parameter 'CPUprcrProcessorTimePercent' cancelled; exception no longer exists
If you have MRL rules configured for event types 9 and 11, modify them as per the new rule format. These customized event messages are supported only in English locale. For more information, see Standard events published by the PATROL Agent
Instance-level filter for the PATROL Agent data
With this release of TrueSight Infrastructure Management, you can configure an instance-level filter while adding monitor types in a monitoring policy. When you add an instance-level filter to a monitoring policy, you can choose to filter out the data, or events, or both.
Based on the type of configured filters, PATROL Agents send the collected data and the generated events to the Infrastructure Management server. For more information, see
Configure filters to include or exclude data and events
PATROL Script Language Reference Manual Volume 2 is now available online
Prior to the 10.7.00 release of the PATROL Agent, volume 2 of the PATROL Script Language Reference Manual was maintained as a PDF document. All of the content from this PDF is now converted to wiki format and is available with the PATROL Agent online documentation. For more information, see PSL Built-in Functions.
